Residential Assistance Programs

Mason County PUD No. 3 offers a wide variety of programs for owner-ratepayers with electrically heated homes that can improve energy efficiency.

Residential Energy Improvement Programs

  • Programs and rebate amounts are subject to change without notice. Contact PUD 3's Energy Service Department for current rebate amounts and requirements.
  • Rebates are available for upgrading your new site-built or manufactured home to ENERGY STAR® standards.
  • Free energy audits are available from PUD 3. These audits will help determine the home's insulation levels to make energy saving recommendations, and to answer questions about your heating system.
  • Rebates are also available for the installation of high efficiency air source heat pumps in existing homes.
  • Since as much as 30 percent of a home's heat can be lost through its duct system, PUD 3 is giving a rebate for duct sealing to improve efficiency. Call us for details.
  • Rebates are available for qualified insulation measures.

Rebates

Credits on your electric bill are available for purchase of the following items:

  • ENERGY STAR® compact fluorescent light bulbs
  • ENERGY STAR® refrigerators
  • ENERGY STAR® freezers
  • ENERGY STAR® washing machines
  • ENERGY STAR® dishwashers
  • Energy efficient water heaters

Rebates are available for the installation of high efficiency air source heat pumps in existing homes.

Rebates are available for decommissioning of refrigerators and freezers. Proper documentation of disposal or recycling is required for rebate; two per household.

Rebates are available for upgrading your new site-built or manufactured home to ENERGY STAR® standards.

Rebates

Rebates are available for upgrading to higher efficiency lighting equipment.

Premium efficiency motors, for new or replacement of an existing motor, are eligible for rebates also.

Site Specific Projects

Other non-residential efficiency improvements are eligible for a rebate of $0.20 per first year kilowatt-hour saved, based on either approved engineering calculations or actual before and after metering of the project. Rebates are capped at 70% of actual costs. This includes retrofit custom projects and new construction custom projects.
