9:55 AM - Electricity Restored to Harstine Island Customers
Mason County PUD No. 3 linemen restored electricity to approximately 1,300 customers on Harstine Island at 9:55 this morning. A power line went down at about 8:50, affecting the entire island.
The cause of the outage is under investigation.
PUD 3 recommends that sensitive electronic appliances and equipment be turned off and unplugged until power is restored for at least 20 minutes. Also, especially with today’s electronics, it is important for customers to consider the use of surge protectors in their homes.
Customers may report outages at any time by calling PUD 3 at 360-432-1533.
Customers may also receive text updates via Twitter by signing up for the online service and having information sent to their cell phones.
