Updated with Customer Count - Harstine Island Outage - Restoration by 11:00 AM
Mason County PUD No. 3 linemen are working to restore electricity to approximately 1,300 customers on Harstine Island after a power line went down at about 8:50 this morning. The entire island has been affected by this incident.
It's expected that electricity will be restored by 11:00. The cause for the outage is under investigation.
Customers may report outages at any time by calling PUD 3 at 360-432-1533.
Customers may also receive text updates via Twitter by signing up for the online service and having information sent to their cell phones.
PUD 3 recommends that sensitive electronic appliances and equipment be turned off and unplugged until power is restored for at least 20 minutes. Also, especially with today’s electronics, it is important for customers to consider the use of surge protectors in their homes.
