PUD 3 Replacing Underground Power Lines on Birch St.

Mason County PUD No. 3 will begin a project on September 28, 2009 to replace a portion of underground power lines on Birch Street. The project is expected to last for approximately two weeks.

Approximately 11 customers will be affected by brief interruptions of electrical service in the area. Letters of notification have been sent to customers in the project area.

PUD 3 personnel has contacted customers to determine if any facilities, such as water or septic, are in the right of way.  Under Washington State law, it is the responsibility of each homeowner to notify and mark their facilities to avoid damage.  If customers have questions concerning the job, they may call (360) 426-8255, extension 5264.

When electricity in the project area is scheduled to be interrupted, PUD 3 will notify customers in advance.  As with any outage, PUD 3 recommends that customers unplug   sensitive electronic appliances and equipment until power has been restored for approximately 20 minutes.

While the work is underway there may be occasional traffic delays.
