Security Deposits and Set-Up Fees

Residential customers are billed a $20.00 set-up fee to open an account. A security deposit or proof of home ownership may be required. Deposits are applied to accounts after 12 months of good credit.

Commercial customers are billed a $20.00 set-up fee to open an account and must sign a guarantee making them personally responsible for the electrical bills on the account. They must also provide a satisfactory commercial letter of credit and/or a security deposit.

The deposit may be set as high as an amount that will equal an estimate of two average bills combined.
