Security Deposits and Set-Up Fees

Residential customers are billed a $20.00 set-up fee to open an account. A security deposit, a letter of satisfactory credit from your previous electric utility or proof of home ownership may be required. Deposits are applied to accounts after 12 months of good credit.

Commercial customers are billed a $20.00 set-up fee to open an account and must sign a guarantee making them personally responsible for the electrical bills on the account. They must also provide a satisfactory commercial letter of credit and/or a security deposit.

The deposit may be set as high as an amount that will equal an estimate of two average bills combined.
