Business Network

Webster’s Dictionary defines a network as an interconnected or interrelated chain, group or system. When we use the word “network” we think of many different definitions, such as: the connections between computers, telephones, and video services. However, one of the most important definitions of a network is the one which makes your business and home office possible: communications with people.

Businesses are seeking faster, more efficient ways of serving their customers. You might expect that in big cities high-speed services like those available via the PUD 3 backbone would be cheap and readily available. They are neither.

HOWEVER, in Mason County high-speed services are cheap compared to services in metropolitan areas, and are becoming more accessible. The PUD has placed its fiber optic system, the expertise of its staff, access to publicly-owned region-wide communications systems and commitment to the community in the forefront of the effort to bring the very latest communications services to Mason County.

As deployed by its retail providers of telecommunications services, the Mason County PUD No. 3 fiber optic network provides a web of real time communications around the county and into the world around us.

At the heart of the PUD 3 network is a high-speed, scalable fiber optic system. The PUD has built a system of fiber optic distribution with high reliability, fast response time and tremendous capacity for transmission of data-heavy information, including voice, video and computer communications.

Working with its retail service providers, PUD 3 telecommunications is committed to providing the best service possible, on an open access, nondiscriminatory, at cost basis.
