PUD 3 Rebate Programs*
To help our customers have an energy efficient home, Mason County PUD No. 3 is pleased to provide a wide range of rebates (billing credits) for the purchase of energy efficient appliances. Some rebate amounts may vary, depending on the energy efficiency of the eligible appliance. Contact PUD 3 for details.
Appliances
- ENERGY STAR® Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs – Actual cost, up to $2.50 billing credit per bulb.
- ENERGY STAR® Dishwashers – $25 billing credit.
- ENERGY STAR® Freezers – $12 billing credit.
- ENERGY STAR® Refrigerators – $25 billing credit.
- Decommissioning Refrigerators and Freezers – $85 billing credit. Proper documentation of disposal or recycling is required for rebate; two per household.
- ENERGY STAR® Washing Machines – $50 billing credit.
- Water Heaters – $25 billing credit. Must be a 50 gallon tank or more and have an energy factor of .93 or higher. Tanks with a lifetime warranty may qualify for a $45 billing credit.
New Construction
- ENERGY STAR® New Site-Built Construction – $600 to $1,000 rebate check. Must have in-progress site inspections from a PUD 3 Energy Services Technician.
- ENERGY STAR® Manufactured Home – $750 rebate check. For electrically heated homes only.
Existing Construction
- Free Energy Audits are available from PUD 3. These audits will help determine the home’s insulation levels in order to be eligible for the insulation rebate program. An Energy Services Technician can make energy saving recommendations and answer questions about your heating system.
- Heat Pump Upgrade - Upgrade to a high efficiency heat pump in an existing site-built home – up to a $915 rebate check. Must have at least a HSPF 8.5 and a SEER 14 to qualify. At this time, federal standards do not include ductless mini-split heat pump systems for this program.
- Duct Sealing - since as much as 30 percent of a home’s heat can be lost through its duct system, PUD 3 offers a rebate for duct sealing to improve efficiency. Performance Tested Comfort Systems (PTCS) duct sealing – up to a $500 rebate check.
*Rebates are effective until September 31, 2008. Contact Mason County PUD No. 3’s Energy Services Department for details on rebate amounts and requirements. Customer must provide receipt and ENERGY STAR® qualification documentation within 30 days of purchase.
